What would you ask?
We are looking into hiring a nanny once a week for a few hours to help out when J is working from home. What kind of questions would you ask? I'm taking a poll.

I had read that Stride Rite offered a discount to customers with twins. Not so I was informed while shopping there today. Just your friendly PSA for today!

Good ideas
I am attaching a link for those who care to check it out regarding something that is near to my heart, infertility.
http://stirrup-queens.blogspot.com/2006/09/history-of-infertilitys-common-thread.html.
Back in July while perusing a Newsweek magazine I read an article on stem cell donations by infertility patients. In the article I noticed that a former high school classmate was one of the couples interviewed for the article. She and her spouse had been trying for 3 years to conceive and finally had a baby. This classmate was Miss Popular, Miss Perfect and Miss All Around. She was also of the snobby clique. Yet reading the article I could relate to her for the first time in my life. I actually found myself feeling sorry for her becasue I understood her pain. I guess even the cool kids have bad luck sometimes.
Anyway I think this week I am going to go out and make a braclet for myself and a friend. Sometimes people see me out with my twins and think "Oh that lucky woman she has kids" and well I want those women to know that I understand what it's like to drive home from a baby shower having a sobfest, how for a time I thought the mailman had it in for me as new baby annoucements and shower invitations always seemed to arrive at the worst times (i.e. first day of period or cancelled cycle). Maybe these bracelets will serve as a symbol of our infertility sisterhood!

Vacation All I Ever Wanted..
Yes I am a child of the 80's and in 4th grade the Go-Go's were one of my faves. Anyway on to the matter at hand....vacation. Yes we are back. Yes we survived. All in all it was just as I had expected. B had his share of tantrums and G went with the flow. I definately can see now why many people with young children travel with grandparents. Nantucket was beautiful and relaxing as always. We did a bike trip with the twins which was fun until a third of the way to the beach destination B bites G and then all hell broke lose. I'm sure the more we do these trips it will get easier, right?
Here are a couple of suggestions I have for anyone travelling with toddler twins:
1. Bring earplugs for dad (or yourself)
2. Be sure to specify an early check-in so when you arrive 3 hours before check-in and want to put your kids down for a nap your room will actually be ready.
3. Don't have a lot of expectations.
4. Have a good comeback ready so when B bites you on the ferry in the middle of a tantrum and some on looker laughs you can tell them off ever so polietly
5. Travel with grandparents. I can't believe I'm saying this but yeah bringing the grandparents would have made the trip more enjoyable for us. As is I now feel like I need a vacation from my vacation.

Terrible twos? How about terrible 15 months?
Recently I was reading a book which said contrary to what people say the terrible twos start earlier (15-18 months). Well this explains why B has horrible fits day and night and has been driving us all crazy. Now I am not sure if the tantrums start around this age and will continue throughout the second year. I haven't gotten that far in the book. But I am going to be optimistic and hope that in a couple months these will go away. I know go ahead....laugh all you wise moms of older children....it doesn't work that way does it?

Stroller Dilema
We are going on our first "family" vacation with the wonder twins in a week. We are going to probably the most un-family place...Nantucket. J and I love the islands and missed not going last summer. So off we go next week with 15 month old twins. First dilema was finding a place that would take kids. Once we crossed that hurdle the next hurdle has been what to bring. Since we are not bringing a car we will basically be pack mules and lugging eveything. This brings me to the stroller debate. We have a Graco duoglider and then two cheap kolcraft umbrella strollers. We have decided to bring all 3 strollers. What do you think? Crazy? I'm going back and forth on this. If you've travelled with twins let me know what is essential to pack and what you did re: stroller issue
